The Honolulu Navy League is pleased to announce that the 34th Annual Joint Military Band Concert will again be held in May, during Military Appreciation Month. The event, free and open to the public, will be held on Saturday, May 18th, at the Historic Hawaii Theatre with open seating beginning at 5:00 PM for the 6:00 PM concert start time. Ticketholders are guaranteed seating; non-ticketholders will be seated on a first come, first served basis.
The Navy League was founded in 1902 by President Theodore Roosevelt; their mission is to educate the public on a need for a strong sea service, to include the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and the Merchant Marine. This year the United States Navy Band will be the military lead and they will be led and conducted by Kelly L. Cartwright, Lieutenant, U. S. Navy Fleet Bandmaster, U.S. Pacific Fleet Band. The joint band features outstanding service members from each branch of the military, with each respective conductor taking turns overseeing a myriad of Patriotic songs.
